1. Acceptance
By enrolling in training with Sentinel Emergency Management, accessing our training portal, or making a booking, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all learners, corporate clients, and supervisors interacting with our training services.
2. Enrolment
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment (where applicable) and completion of the onboarding process, including USI verification, LLND self-assessment, and health declaration. Sentinel Emergency Management reserves the right to decline an enrolment where a learner does not meet prerequisites or where the enrolment cannot be safely accommodated.
Where training requires prerequisites, it is the learner’s responsibility to ensure prerequisites are met prior to enrolment. Enrolment does not guarantee competency assessment outcomes.
3. Fees and payment
Course fees are published on the relevant course page. All fees are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. Payment is due at the time of booking unless a corporate or purchase-order arrangement has been agreed in writing.
4. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation by the learner:
- More than 14 days before the session start date — full refund or transfer to another session at no charge
- 7–14 days before — 50% refund or full transfer to another session
- Less than 7 days before — no refund; transfer may be arranged at our discretion
- Non-attendance without notice — no refund or transfer
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to training@sentinelem.com.au or via the learner portal.
Cancellation by Sentinel Emergency Management: If we cancel or postpone a session, enrolled learners will be offered a full refund or transfer to an alternative date. We are not liable for any consequential costs (e.g. travel, accommodation) incurred by learners.
5. Attendance and participation
Learners are expected to attend all scheduled sessions for which they are enrolled. Where a minimum attendance requirement applies to a course, this will be stated on the course page. Failure to meet attendance requirements may result in a Not Yet Satisfactory (NYS) or Withdrawn (WD) outcome being recorded.
Learners must behave respectfully toward trainers, fellow learners, and any other persons associated with training delivery. Sentinel Emergency Management reserves the right to remove a learner from training without refund where conduct is unsafe, disruptive, or in breach of applicable workplace health and safety requirements.
6. Assessment and competency
Assessment outcomes are determined by qualified assessors in accordance with the relevant training package or accredited course requirements. Outcomes are recorded as Satisfactory (S), Not Yet Satisfactory (NYS), Credit Transfer (CT), RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning), or Withdrawn (WD).
Learners have the right to appeal an assessment outcome. Appeals must be submitted in writing within 14 days of notification of outcome. The appeals process will be provided upon request.
Reasonable adjustment: Reasonable adjustment to assessment conditions is available for learners with a disability or learning need. Requests must be made prior to assessment commencement.
7. Unique Student Identifier (USI)
A valid USI is required for all nationally recognised training under the Student Identifiers Act 2014 (Cth). Learners must provide and verify their USI before a certificate or Statement of Attainment can be issued. If a USI cannot be verified, we are unable to issue a certificate regardless of assessment outcome.
8. Certificates and records
Certificates and Statements of Attainment are issued upon declaration of competency and USI verification. Certificates remain the property of the learner. A digital copy is available via the learner portal. Replacement certificates may be issued upon request; an administration fee may apply.
Training records are retained for a minimum of 30 years and may be accessed by the learner at any time via the learner portal or by written request.
9. Intellectual property
All training materials, course content, assessments, and resources provided by Sentinel Emergency Management remain our intellectual property. Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without written consent.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentinel Emergency Management’s liability for any claim arising from training services is limited to the amount paid for the relevant course. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this page. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
